While not called a parable in the Bible, Luke 14:25-35 is kind of like a series of parables to help explain a parable. These 10 verses will challenge you to count the cost of following Jesus. He demands nothing less than all of us.

You've probably heard about the "Good Samaritan" but do you really know the story? The parable is Jesus' response to a man who wanted to know, "do I really need to love EVERYONE?" Ok, so maybe those weren't his exact words but....well, just listen and hear for yourself.

We'll make a couple of references to Jesus' "sermon on the mount" which can be found in Matthew 5-7. We'll specifically mention Matthew 5:43-48.

Matthew 15 gives us another parable of Jesus. This one addresses the topic of religious traditions established by men and the commands of God. You can imagine the side Jesus was on. Hang on people...this one's going to have you clutching your pearls, changing your diets and checking your hearts.

Joy - Exodus 30:17-21; Matthew 5:17; Matthew 23:25-28

Ben - Mark 7:1-23; Colossians 3:5-10; 12-17

This final story in Matthew 25 is often used to tell people they need to care for the marginalized. While that's absolutely something that needs to be done, that's not really what Jesus was telling His disciples here. This look at what's coming for all of us is a sobering reminder that what we do matters. There will be a separation in the end. Will be be a "sheep" or a "goat"?

Hey everyone, we're kicking off our new series on the parables of Jesus by doing a live episode.  So it might sound a little different but it's the same old Lunch with PB&J you know and love. 

We've reached the end of Jonah or at least his story in the Bible. Today we'll talk about how much we love God's mercy, love, compassion, etc...At least when it's directed toward us. Also, how God often uses "rumble strips" in our lives to get our attention.
