1
In peace and joy I now depart
As God may will it;
And full of comfort is my heart;
He doth still it:
For the Lord assureth me,
That death is but a slumber.
2
’Tis Christ that wrought this work for me,
My faithful Saviour,
Whom Thou, O God, hast let me see
By Thy favour.
Now I know He is my life,
My help in need and dying.
3
Thou hast revealed in grace to all
Him, our salvation;
And to His kingdom Thou dost call
Every nation,
By Thy precious, saving Word,
In all the world resounding.
4
The blessed light and hope is He
Of lands benighted;
By Him are those who know not Thee
Fed and lighted.
Israel’s bliss and praise is He,
Their joy, reward, and glory.
