I needed something from this pair. Something more than just power and connection. I needed an insurance policy. To make sure that they held up their end of our bargain. I needed it form them both. I could see it, in they way they moved, how they looked at each other, there was a connection and having just one of them was not going to be enough to fulfill my goals. I needed the thing they were guarding the most. The thing that they were keeping from one another. That thing so precious that it had to be held at a distance and closed off from everyone. If this was going to work, I would need their hearts. Metaphorically of coarse.
