Don’t over-prepare or write too much. Your players can be unpredictable with their decisions.
Write easy and generic rather than focus on hard details
Browse reddit for ideas. Use movies and video games and other things in pop culture to influence the creation of events in your campaign
Steal like an artist
You don’t have to have an EPIC campaign. You just have to have a FUN campaign.
Always have a back up. Print out sheets or get a book
If you like deeply customizing your own campaign complete with stats, go ahead and do it. Laziness is about doing what you like to do, not necessarily the act of doing nothing.
Monetize your D&D work (or any other hobby work)
Youre’ the DM. You make the rules.
Use your role as DM to experiment with game mechanics if you deicide you want to create your own table top, board, or card game
Eli5. Make your campaigns so easy a kid could play if you have a group of noobs
Scale the difficulty and complexity with the amount of real DnD playing experience your group has.
Communicate with your players OOC to see what kind of goals they have for their character
Keep the story flowing, even if something unpredictable happens.
You are the captain of the ship and final decision maker
