Season 5 - Episode 4: Lydia – The Working Woman
Synopsis: The central theme of this episode is to convince you, the listeners that Ordinary Christians Do Matter. As we read in this chapter, ordinary people in fact have for more impact for Christ than they realize. As humans, we seek prestige and fame and often lose sight of our purpose as Christians. It can be depressing to hear what a person would do today to look or feel attractive. We have to remember that we are accepted for who we are, as we are and we are made in the image of Christ for a purpose. If we can remain in Christ and seek our purpose from him, then we too can be as effective as Lydia. Tune into this teaching segment as we learn how Silas fit the role of Sidekick to the Apostle Paul.
Meet the Co-Host: Rev. Dr. Matthew Everhard is the Senior Pastor at Gospel Fellowship, (PCA) in Valencia, Pennsylvania. Matthew is married to his wife Kelly and has three children, Soriah, Elijah, and Simone. Matthew is not only a pastor/theologian but a writer and publisher. Matthew was the general editor for the Westminster Society Journal. Matthew's latest work his the publication of his dissertation on Jonathan Edwards, "A Theology of Joy: Jonathan Edwards and Eternal Happiness in the Holy Trinity" and now to add to the bunch, “Unknown: The Extraordinary Influence of Ordinary Christians.”
