Lynda Stuart: Primary teachers' union says teacher workload still hasn't been addressed

Listen Later

The primary teachers union is always hopeful of a solution - but it's not getting movement on key issues.
It's proposing its members undertake rolling regional strikes, rather than a two-day national strike.
Members will vote on that later this month.
The union is seeking a 16 per cent pay increase over two years and more staffing.
NZEI president Lynda Stuart told Mike Hosking there are no planned negotiation dates in the near future.
"We have got some movement in the pay area, obviously, but we have got absolutely no movement so far in the issues around addressing teacher workload."
