Lynette Ooi ON: Leading with Purpose in Big Tech and Why Diversity matters

Listen Later

Shulin sits down with Lynette Ooi to talk about her journey in Tech law, how she recently developed her purpose statement and how she pursues other interests. Lynette discusses her leadership lessons in becoming a Head of Legal in a Big Tech company.  A vocal advocate for issues close to her heart and a true multi-hyphenate, Lynette’s story is one that is inspirational, as a lawyer with much creativity and passion.

Lynette is the Head of Legal of Amazon Consumer in Singapore. She has spent most of her career advising tech and media businesses, enjoying a front-row seat to a succession of industry trends, including fibre broadband, mobile payments, cloud computing, and e-commerce. She’s also a published recording artist and the lead singer of Fool’s Decade.

Back in 2017, she founded the Women In Law Circle, a group of women lawyers across private practice and in-house roles who support each other in achieving their professional and personal ambitions. She also provides career and personal development mentoring and coaching within and outside Amazon, and is training to be a certified coach. Lynette contributes articles to various publications and also volunteers for causes related to diversity and inclusion, and youth empowerment.
