"Lady Death" doesn't even scratch the surface of the legacy of Lyudmila Pavlichenko.  With 309 confirmed kills to her name, Lyudmila is the most successful female sniper to date.  And she was best friends with Eleanor Roosevelt?  Of course. 

Olga of Kiev squashed an early rebellion after her husband was assassinated (as in, buried alive, burned alive, & slaughtered the usurpers).  Despite such a violent start to her reign, she oversaw the first legal reform in Eastern Europe & established many trade routes/centers, ultimately becoming canonized for her efforts to spread Christianity throughout Rus'.
