This week we kick off our spooky Noir season with Fritz Lang's "M." We discuss the status of this film as a proto-noir, and discuss Fritz Lang's place in the Noir pantheon as well as the influence of German Expressionism on the genre. After we discuss the history of the film, we discuss the film itself, breaking down the plot and discussing the aspects we love about this film.
