Digital EP released Nov 7.
Danvers has been suitably impressing us for a while with his colorful mix of samples, live instrumentation and highly musical approach to house music and thereabouts. EPs for FINA and WotNot have marked him out as one to watch, and to celebrate his EP for our label, we invited him to put together this mix of unreleased bit, forthcoming releases and his best bits so far.
*How would you describe your sound?*
I guess I try and keep everything pretty rough and messy, I don't like clean sounds too much and whatever I'm making has to be melody driven. The reason I took this photo for this mix is because pretty much every chord and lead sound in my music has been run through this battered old guitar pedal that I've had for about 10 years, it sounds noisy and hissy and it's almost impossible to reign in.
*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?*
If I had to name other producers: Frits Wentink, Henry Wu, Graef & Astro, Tornado Wallace, Soichi Terada, everyone on WotNot... I'm most inspired by Jazz and broken / swung rhythm,
*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*
This mix is all music that I've made in the last year, a few from my first signing with FINA Records, some upcoming stuff with WotNot, and of course the Monologues release.
