Macro Photography With Pocket Macro

Growing plants that attract aphids inside, like peppers, provides a beautiful environment for bugs to thrive. With bugs in your house, practicing macro photography is super easy! I ordered a lot of convergent ladybugs who are loving all my pepper plants, and they are super fun to photograph!

I just went through a free webinar about growing a podcast, and I wanted to share what I learned from the training! Many things hit home for me, and I wanted to share them with you if you are interested in growing a podcast. The main and most crucial step is being specific about your show and what it is about. Being too general and broad makes it hard to find a large audience. With this newfound information, I'll be renaming this podcast "Enthusiastic Talks with Sam" and creating a second podcast specifically about macro photography :).

The goal of these talks is to improve my ability to talk enthusiastically! The challenge is based on the book "Grow Rich! With Piece of Mind" by Napoleon Hill, and you are to read or talk enthusiastically for 10 minutes a day. Try it with me! It will be fun comparing this episode to one a month from now!

Being alive is amazing; all the fun things available for you to experience are quite plentiful! We live in amazing times, and it is sure great to be alive!

More enthusiastic talks about programming! Cloud computing is just so neat! The project I worked on is something that you can try out for yourself if you want a simple "serverless" website to play with on Amazon Web Services. The blog guide can be found here: https://sammy.life/2022/programming/aws-amplify/. Hit me up on twitter or Instagram @pocket.macro if you have problems with the guide!

There are so many beautiful things surrounding us all day every day, and taking the time to look at and appreciate them is quite fun! Photography is a great way to appreciate these beautiful things since it allows you to focus on them more while capturing the beauty you see with a camera.

Web programming is super fun, and it is very handy. Being able to create custom programs to handle pictures, files, and information from other users over the internet is pretty neat. Thanks to projects like AWS Amplify, building web applications is much easier than it used to be! I’ll get a tutorial with my little project that I discuss out on my blog at https://sammy.life by March 27th :D.

Voice actors are amazing, and there are many different ones that I really enjoy listening to. Thanks to all the anime I watch, it is fun hearing the same person voicing different characters 😁. For something fun to try out, I'll start practicing to see if my goofy voice can be used for something!

There are many similarities between photographing people and bugs and a few key differences; If you do one, you can apply many of the same principles to the other! The most significant difference, which is fun to think about, is that you can tell people how to pose, where to look, and how to move, while with bugs, you must work with how they pose and move :D.

Change is the only thing that is constant, and I am inspired to talk about change thanks to the lovely time change 🤣. It is normal to get into habits of doing certain things that may be tedious, and it is okay to identify and change those things to make them more enjoyable 😁.

Editing photos is fun and it lets you add your own unique style to all your photos. By doing this for a long time, you’ll get into a consistent unique style that will let others easily recognize your work. I personally enjoy using Adobe Lightroom and the Nik Collection by DXO; these make editing fun for me.
