Welcome to the Angels on the Airwaves podcast featuring our Mental Health Hero, Pete Murf, as part of Men’s Mental Health Month, June 2026.
Murf as he is better known, has a truly touching story that is a showcase for how powerful the human spirit is at times of extreme adversity. And how we have the ability to find a glimmer of hope and light to pick ourselves back up again even when we feel out of hope
Born in Sydney and now living in the sunshine of Australia’s famous Gold Coast beach strip, Murf is a devoted Father, Excercise Scientist, PT, Coach, Somatic Breathwork Facilitator and has spent over 25 years guiding people to build stronger and more resilient bodies, & minds and whole encouraging men to open up about the matters most men don’t say out loud.
In this extraordinary story we learn about rebuilding lives, turning pain into purpose, the important of community, connection and having strong support systems especially for those who may not be able to access them in their every day lives.
In this episode, we talk about:
• How we can turn surrender into strategy, especially when navigating things outside of our control
• The loss that comes with marriage separation that often goes unacknowledged compared to other forms of loss
• How life during a period of loss feels on the inside and we touch on feelings of sel-judgement, isolation and the pressure to hold it all together
• Why connection to ourselves and others beats external validation every time, and what that actually looks like in practice
• The mistakes we make along the path on our life journey because those are often our greatest teachers rather than the wins
Murf shares his message as a powerful reminder that unwavering dedication to a cause, and trust in our own values and self-belief, shows us that the human spirit doesn’t need perfect conditions. It just needs one reason, one breath, one person showing up.
