Rachel is joined by two friends and long-time Parkview Creative collaborators: photographer and filmmaker Rory Langdon-Down, and writer-director Fabia Martin.

About the guests
Rory is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker whose work is rooted in human connection. Originally trained as a broadcast journalist, he found his way behind the lens through film before discovering portrait photography during the pandemic.
In 2021, Rory created Portrait A Day — 365 portraits of strangers, published daily on Instagram. The project won the British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Humanity award, was featured in The Guardian, and became a limited-edition book. His work with North London football team North London United saw two portraits shortlisted for the Taylor Wessing Prize at the National Portrait Gallery, with another shortlisted for the Portrait of Britain Award.
Rory believes a photograph is made on both sides of the camera, through collaboration with the subject. He mentors young adults with learning difficulties through Fair Shot and works as a photography consultant for the Down’s Syndrome Association. His great-great-grandfather, Dr John Langdon Down, established one of the earliest progressive care communities for people with intellectual disabilities — a legacy that continues to inform Rory’s work.
Fabia Martin is an award-winning director and writer driven by a belief that the stories most worth telling are often the ones left untold. She began her career in factual development on projects for the BBC, Channel 4 and Vice before moving into directing, making films for Google, Nike, Samsung and Dove with a focus on real people, fresh perspectives and a bright comedic edge.
Her BFI-supported short The Rev, a comedy about a gay Dorset vicar in the midst of an identity crisis, premiered at the London Film Festival, screened internationally and was highly commended at the IRIS Prize. Her debut feature Underdogs, starring Alisha Weir, is currently in production.
Fabia is a BAFTA Connect member and part of the Directors UK Inspire Mentorship Scheme. She has collaborated with photographer and filmmaker Rory Langdon-Down on several projects, including Six for Gold, which she directed with Rory behind the camera.
