“For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” Romans 8:29
“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” Philippians 2:12-13
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do
with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1John 4:18
3 Tools God Uses to Work in You (God’s part)
1: The Holy Spirit
“…if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies…” Romans 8:11
“…as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more
like Him and reflect His glory even more.” 2Corinthians 3:18b NLT
2. His Word
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2Tim. 3:16-17
“…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17
3. Circumstances
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son…” Romans 8:28-29
3 Tools to Work-Out Your Salvation (Our part)
1: Learn to Depend on God’s Spirit moment by moment
“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5
2. Take charge of what you think about
“be made new in the attitude of your minds…” Ephesians 4:23b
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:1-2
