Madeline Soto was just 13 years old when she was reported missing on Monday, February 26, 2024. Her body was found days later in a bamboo tree grove 22 miles from home. The boyfriend of Maddie's mother, Stephan Sterns, was eventually arrested and charged with both SAing Maddie for years and for doing her in. 
Stephan's parents later told the police that they were walking on eggshells in their home while living with their son. They described him as being volatile and highly stressed prior to Madeline's death.
