Madison Veterans for Peace Honor Memorial Day With Anti-War Activism

Memorial Day was created as a day for honoring the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. But Larry Orr explained to Monday Eight o’Clock Buzz guest host Nicholas Wootton that there is a better way to honor the fallen: work for peace.

Orr is a member of the Madison Veterans for Peace, a group of former US military personnel who advocate for peace and, according to the group’s website, share a commitment “To abolish war as an instrument of national policy.”

Madison Veterans for Peace will host a rally this Memorial Day at the Wisconsin Masonic Center. Larry Orr served in the United States Air Force in Turkey from 1964 to 1968.
