intelligent female protagonist decides she's in love with an idiot ...
The violet-eyed man--what a villain! He can simultaneously garrotte someone (which takes 2 hands & a strong grip with both) and hold down the firing pin of a fragmentation grenade! (Maybe he has 3 hands?)
Then his perfectly competent, intelligent female protagonist decides she's in love with an idiot who keeps disobeying orders in order to "protect" her, which puts her in danger every time, when she doesn't need protecting. Wow!
