For the online series, In Pursuit of Excellence, the Manila Symphony Orchestra celebrates not only the recent achievements of its soloists, but also some of the finest concerti for strings. Despite that, some of these pieces do not get the recognition they deserve. Two such works cap the MAESTRO FILIPINO feature on the series: Henri Vieuxtemps’ Violin Concerto No. 4, and Alexander Glazunov’s Violin Concerto in A minor. Joining DZFE’s Daniel to talk about these pieces are soloists Kyla Coronel and Monica Bacus.
