Everything was set for the French-ship Concert celebrating 75 years of Filipino-French amity. Then the soloist fell ill. Stepping up to the plate, cellist Kyongmin Nam Fiel scaled Camille Saint-Saens’ Cello Concerto No. 1 in a few days, and so made her debut with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. She joins DZFE’s Daniel on MAESTRO FILIPINO (Sat 1200, Sun 00, Thu 2000) to talk about the music she performed, and her rapid fire preparations for the French Embassy’s French-ship Concert.
