The Philippine chapter of the Percussive Arts Society was created at a less than opportune time: months before the pandemic. Instead of shelving the project, however, its members made full use of the online sphere. Their efforts were recently rewarded when the group was recognized as one of the Percussive Arts Society’s outstanding chapters for the year 2021. Returning to MAESTRO FILIPINO, chapter president Saturnino Tiamson, along with vice president Isaac de Alva III, broadcasting manager Ryan Peralta, and Ernie Severino, spend time with DZFE’s Daniel to talk about this achievement, as well as the group’s activities, plans, and challenges.
