Robert and Patricia Borelli

Our segment today is called, “Mob Madness to Jesus Joy,” and our special guest is Robert Borelli who is going to talk about what it was like growing up in an Italian family, in a dangerous Brooklyn neighborhood over-run by gangs and violence.  From an early age, Robert became swept up into the flashy lifestyle of the violent, powerful men he idolized developing his reputation as a fierce fighter.  By his early twenties, Robert was on his way to Mafia stardom, mentored and protected by one of the most prominent wise guys in New York City.  While the pleasure of notoriety was fulfilling, a powerful addiction to drugs soon overrode it, negating Robert’s credibility among his mobster brothers.  Robert details his tumultuous lifestyle in his book “The Witness” which is a compelling account of the hard and fast life of an “up-and-coming star” within the Mafia ranks, the downward spiral created by his drug addiction, and the spiritual re-birth he experienced in prison spurred by the “heart-wrenching” plea of his little girl.  Also joining us today is Robert’s wife, Patricia, who will share later in this segment what it was like to fall in love with a man with a “dark past” and a “deep secret” that would require her to sacrifice everything and everyone she loved…including her family.  Robert takes us on a journey out of evil and into the light of the love of God.
