Phil Masterson was a 23 year old Marine Biology student who had a hobby for collecting and playing classic video games. According to his blog, he picked up a copy of the game Mage Blade 3 from a yard sale just ten miles from his home in Victoria, Texas. The blog details his experience with the game and, by extension, his rapid mental decline thereafter. What was originally thought to be the onset of schizophrenia or even early dementia would eventually change the course of history not only for our great nation, but the world itself.
"Phil was such a kind and gentle soul. I never thought he would be capable of hurting so many people. I also never thought that he would be able to shoot lightning from his fingertips, so I guess that's egg on my face."
