Maintain Unity

Scripture: Ephesians 4:2–6

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

Explanation:

Unity in the church requires effort and character. Paul emphasizes humility, gentleness, and patience as essential for preserving the Spirit-led unity that already exists. Our shared faith in the one God is the foundation of this unity.

Application:

You have a role in protecting the unity of your church. It starts with how you treat others—especially when disagreements arise. Choose peace. Be quick to listen, slow to anger, and eager to love, even when it’s hard.

2. How have you seen unity strengthened—or damaged—by someone’s words or actions?
3. What practical step can you take to promote unity in your group or ministry?
