Parenting can be a tedious task, more especially for a new parent. Hence in many African cultures/practices a new parent will have an elderly taking good care of her and the new baby, guiding the parent on how to take good care of the child and performing certain tasks like noticing when something is wrong with the child.
Now for a disabled woman to be a new parent can be extra tedious, more especially if the disability condition slows mobility as well.
29 years old Olebogeng Maphalela became a parent when she was just 28, after 10 years of being on a wheel chair. As with any other cases, thorough support from close by people can really help a lot, eases off many burdens.
