Nick and Foxx are back this week and reviewing the sequel to the 2020 video game film Sonic The Hedgehog. After a rough start with the animation prior to the first movie, the franchise has bounced back in a big way as the sequel is arguably better than the well-performing first film. The humor appeals to children and adults alike and the action is enough to prevent it from being corny. This franchise has a legitimate claim to being the best video game movie property of all time.

Nick and Foxx are back after a brief hiatus and reviewing the biggest movie of 2022 yet, The Batman. Robert Pattinson steps into the role of the caped crusader with Director Matt Reeves at the helm, utilizing a darker, grittier and more noir feel to the classic character. Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Paul Dano, Colin Ferrel and more offer a crazy talented supporting cast that all deliver. The Batman is different from any predecessors and will challenge what you think about the franchise as a whole.

Nick and Foxx are back and reviewing the latest video game movie: Uncharted. Street-smart Nathan Drake is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor "Sully" Sullivan to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan, and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada. This movies combines aspects and storylines from multiple Uncharted games, causing it to be more choppy than seamless. While aiming to be a fun adventure, Uncharted comes off as a poorly put together trip. It has fun moments, but ultimately feels like another miss from Sony.

Nick and Foxx are back this week and reviewing the latest whodunnit film: Death on the Nile. In a follow up to 2017's Murder on the Orient Express, Kenneth Branagh returns to star and direct in this latest murder mystery. Whodunnits are beloved for their misdirections and big reveals, but Death on the Nile is more focused on the storyline and exposition. It is a new take on a whodunnit, but falls flat do to the lack of "ah ha" moments. Still, it serves its purpose and is well shot.

Nick and Foxx are back as they're gearing up for award season with the review of newly Best Picture Nominated movie, Nightmare Alley. This movie is the latest from acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro and is a new spin on his typical style. Nightmare Alley features a longer movie, focused on the rise and fall of Stan, played by Bradley Cooper. This movie is much more story driven than some of del Toro's previous work, and it works well in some areas but does drag in others. However, it picks up at the climax of the movie and does manage to go complete circle, a rare occurrence in Hollywood nowadays.

Nick and Foxx are back and reviewing Roland Emmerich's latest disaster genre film: Moonfall. This movie incorporates plenty of the tried and true disaster film aspects and doesn't have a lot of depth, but does have some stuff working in its favor. Patrick Wilson and Halle Berry do well together and while the ending gets a little whacky, it is still a fine movie.

Nick and Foxx are back and reviewing the latest Disney animated movie: Encanto. This movie is the latest in a long line of recent Disney animated films that have found strong success as 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' is one of the most popular Disney songs of all time. Despite releasing 3 to 4 animated films per year, Disney has found another winner with Encanto and does so through switching up the typical animated movie blueprint.

Nick and Foxx are back reviewing the latest installment to the iconic horror franchise: Scream. Yet another meta thriller slasher whodunit, Scream (5) establishes and follows the rules of a "re-quel" by bringing back legacy characters in Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette, while introducing a new group of main characters with ties to the original characters. This movie is just another example of how the franchise continues to be able to do the same thing over and over again but in a new way with new commentary. The first film without creator Wes Craven is done justice as this movie sets up more possible additions to come.

Nick and Foxx are back after the holiday break and reviewing The King's Man today, the latest in the Kingsman franchise by director Matthew Vaughn. The King's Man serves as a prequel to the franchise and takes a much different tone than it's predecessor Kingsman movies. The franchise is known for its dark comedy and creative action sequences, but The King's Man is much more story driven, setting the stage for how the secret organization came to be. After a choppy start, the movie does hit its stride midway through and finishes strong. There aren't as many memorable lines or scenes as some of the previous films, but it holds its own and is a fine addition to the franchise.
