About my Guest Erica D'Arcangelo :
Erica D’Arcangelo grew up in a traditional Catholic Italian family with her parents and 4 siblings. After attending college for Communications and earning minors in Advertising and Journalism she began her career in the digital marketing industry, as a content creator.
After many years of working for large healthcare corporations, Erica decided to launch her own marketing company in 2013. In 2018, she made her way home and while running her digital agency saw that her family-owned pizzeria was in need of some marketing itself. Erica worked along side her father as a content creator for the business. During this time she revisited her history and heritage with her father and the story of her grandfather, Pietro (Pete) as he opened up D’Arc’s Pizza in 1960. Moved by this story, Erica decided to write a book loosely based Pietro’s life. A Story About Pizza follows Pietro as he immigrates from Italy to America. It covers his struggles as a coal miner for the Berwin-White Coal Company in Windber, PA. Most importantly, the book talks about his journey to fulfill his purpose, one mixed with both love, family, loyalty and, of course, pizza. This heartwarming story is a look into Italian history, the family dynamic and the joys food. Each chapter includes an authentic family recipe. Most of all it tells a story about pizza. One like no other.
