This is the sixth episode of Season 2 of The Broke Architect Podcast!
This show is brought to you by the Global Architect Alliance (GAA).
In this episode, we talk to Niall, located in Scotland in the UK but is Irish by birth. Niall runs “Real Life Architect” which is a growing Youtube channel focusing on residential architecture. Niall is indeed an architect and I reached out to him after viewing his engaging and sometimes funny videos which dispel the myths about homeowners focusing on the residential market.
We talk about the struggles of a sole practitioner and how to navigate the residential market. We discuss trade people, successful YouTubers who tunnel under their houses, trolls and how hard it is to make his Youtube videos. Niall also discusses ECAN (Edinburgh Chartered Architect Network) and how they help each other lead successful businesses. We talk about fees, how to be profitable and possible SOLUTIONS to LOW FEES.
The Podcast is supporting the important work of The Architects Benevolent Society, which was founded in 1850 and exists to support the architectural community and their families and can help architects in a range of ways during their working life, or once they have retired. https://www.absnet.org.uk/get-help/ FUNDRAISER APPEAL: Please donate to the Broke Architect Podcasts JustGiving page: https://tinyurl.com/murevj5r
