Church People
Those People

You’ve heard it.
You’ve probably felt it.

-“Oh, she’s not really a church person…”
-“That family’s kind of a mess—definitely -not church people…”
-“He’d never come to church… He’s one of those people…”
-“She seems skeptical about the Bible… Yeah, she’s one of those people.”

And without even realizing it, we start dividing the world into two camps:

🟡 Church people — the cleaned-up, showed-up, “praise God” crowd

🟡 Those people — the ones we think wouldn’t fit, wouldn’t care, wouldn’t belong

Plot twist:
Jesus didn’t come for “church people.”
He came for those people.

📖 Luke 5:31–32 (NIV)

And church people—you ought to be glad.
Because let’s be honest…

Most of us didn’t walk in here squeaky clean.

We came with baggage.
With questions.
With regrets.
And someone welcomed us anyway.

And now—we get to do the same for someone else.

The Mission Is People. Period.

Let’s go back to what we said earlier:

The world may see church people and those people—but Jesus just sees people.

People He loves.
People He died for.
People He wants to rescue, restore, and send.

That’s why we’re here. This is our mission.

🎯 Redemption Church exists to help people FIND and FOLLOW Jesus Christ.

Let’s break that down:

FIND Jesus

Finding Jesus is about receiving the gospel.
It’s about coming to faith.
It’s evangelism, sharing the good news—plain and simple.

We don’t just hope people find Jesus.
We introduce them. We invite them. We reach them.

FOLLOW Jesus

Following Jesus is discipleship.

It’s learning your faith, growing your relationship with God, and living like Jesus wherever you are.

We help people:
-Learn to read the Bible
-Discover how to pray
-Understand how to share their faith
-Take steps from belief to transformation

That’s our mission: Evangelism + Discipleship.
It’s not either/or. It’s both/and.
We reach people. And we grow people.

And how do we live this out practically?

Through our church vision—four simple, powerful steps:

They’re not just gatherings—they’re encounters.

We help you discover your God given strengths so that you can make a difference.

Be a part of missions across the globe and leadership here at home.

We believe that when people encounter Jesus, they don’t stay the same—and their influence starts multiplying.
Your effort, your prayer, your generosity… is responsible for every baptism, faith commitment, and success.

That’s how we do it.

We’re not here for a spiritual cruise ship experience.

We are a rescue team on mission.

🟡 We are OTHERS–FOCUSED.
We exist to reach people.
We exist to develop people.
We exist to send people out to go reach others.
IT IS NOT ABOUT US!

That’s how the world changes—one life at a time.

And it starts with us.

Jesus Always Went After the One

Jesus wasn’t impressed by crowds—He was moved by the one.

-One sheep that wandered
-One woman at the well
-One tax collector in a tree
-One criminal on a cross

Jesus didn’t build walls—He broke them down.

He didn’t wait for people to come to Him—He went to them.

THIS IS HOW JESUS LIVED!

And then Jesus turned to His followers and said:

🟡 “GO and make disciples…” — Matthew 28:19

🟡 “Compel them to come in…” — Luke 14:23

🟡 “I am sending you.” — John 20:21

🟡 “Be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8

WITNESS – You know what that means?

If you’re a follower of Jesus, you’re a witness.

Not a judge. Not a lawyer. Not the jury. Just a witness.

You don’t have to know everything.

You just have to share what you’ve seen and what Jesus has done for you.

You’re not called to have all the answers—just to open your life, open your mouth, and be part of what God is doing.

His mission wasn’t passive—it was personal.
And now? It’s ours.

Somebody’s Waiting on Your Invitation

You don’t need a mic.
You don’t need a theology degree.
You don’t need a perfect track record.

You just need a yes.

Because someone you know is hurting.
Someone’s on the edge.
Someone’s looking for any reason to believe there’s more to life.

And guess what? You may be their open door.

Now let me talk to the church folks in the room—the ones who’ve found Jesus and are following Him…

Some of you have been walking with Jesus for years… but…
-You’ve never shared your faith.
-You’ve never brought someone to anything.
-You’ve never discovered your spiritual gifts.
-You’ve never stepped into your purpose.
-You just come for the service—instead of serving others.

That’s not condemnation. That’s invitation.

I have good news? It’s never been easier to start.

Invite them to belong, learn, laugh, and grow.

“We’ve got a party night happening this month at my friend’s place—it’s a connect group hangout. Chill vibes, no pressure—you’d love it.”

You’re not inviting them to “church.”

You’re inviting them to belong, learn, laugh, and grow.
