Here are the author's notes from this week's message:

Make Life Simple Again Part 2

33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

Matthew 6:33 AMPC

*- Life becomes unnecessarily complex when we put anything before God’s order. When His Kingdom and righteousness are our priority, complexity dissolves. Everything we truly need aligns itself with divine timing, order, and purpose.

6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 AMPC

*- Prayer is the exchange that empties anxiety and fills us with peace. When we pray rightly—listening and conversing with the Holy Spirit—peace becomes the guard over our minds, and simplicity becomes our way of life.

5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6 AMPC

*- Life becomes complicated when we lean on human reasoning instead of divine direction. Simplicity flows when we let the Holy Spirit lead us into truth. Jesus loves us so deeply that He sent the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us with His wisdom and clarity. (John 16:13)

I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

John 15:5 AMPC

*- The key to a simple and fulfilled life is to remain vitally connected to Jesus. When we stay joined to Him, being fruitful seems effortless because the One Who fulfills all things lives through us.

8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolations and wonders in the earth.

9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire.

10 Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!

Psalm 46:8-10 AMPC

*- be still: let (it, them, etc) alone, i.e., do nothing, be quiet

*- It’s simple: Watch. Understand. Relax. Know. If we approached every problem this way, our minds would quickly learn that life isn’t as complicated as it seems and that solving problems can be simple.

Lifework Assignment:

Think about your favorite pet that passed away. Now think about the food you absolutely dislike. Next, think about a place you never enjoy going to.

Now, listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit with your right ear.

Most complications in life arise from our constant thinking. Did you notice how simple it was to quiet your thoughts and start listening for the Holy Spirit?

Every time your thoughts try to steal the moment meant for listening to the Holy Spirit's voice, make the same quick switch—stop thinking, start listening. That single shift can train your mind to see life as simple again.

Expected Behavior:

16 Rejoice evermore.

17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV
