"You can get yourself back."
Officer Chris Perry grew up as a cop's kid knowing that joining law enforcement would be his career path.
After beginning his career, he quickly hit challenges with a critical incident leaving him with a brain injury, physical injuries, and PTSD, he made the move to Cincinnati Police where he served from 1998 to 2024.
He admittedly retired for 3 days and then began his next stint working for Amberley Village Police Department.
Chris tells his story and battle with PTSD and loss openly, sharing the dark details that he had to navigate throughout his experience before hitting rock bottom and stepping bravely into his own healing process.
Turning his pain into his purpose, Chis uses his experience to help others through teaching, speaking, and peer support mentorship.
This episode is a MUST LISTEN for anyone in the first responder fields or anyone who may be experiencing the symptoms of PTSD. If you haven't experienced it yet, his story will highlight the telling signs of what to be aware of. If you are in your healing journey, Chris can provide validation and support.
