Women have grown up in fear that there is only room for “one woman at the table” when it comes to opportunities for women to land high power/high paid positions. We have internalised patriarchal messages from a young age that women are not as strong, competent or capable as men.

Whenever anyone mentions "fear of judgement" we immediately think of the judgement from OTHER people. But we all know there is nothing MORE terrifying than the judgemental thoughts we believe about ourselves.

If we do nothing to see, hear and understand where our judgements are coming from, we end up spiralling into the void of "not enoughness" where we feel insecure and NEED reassurance.

Almost every coach or mentor I see online (no matter their niche) gives the advice that to achieve your *fitness/career/body confidence* goal you need to STOP CARING WHAT EVERYONE THINKS!

It's good advice, accept I've never seen anyone share HOW you stop caring. 

Telling your inner critic to "be quiet" is only re-affirming the message that your thoughts and feelings AREN'T important. It's a message for your thoughts to remain silent and your feelings to remain small. So if THIS is your strategy, you will continue to hold yourself back!!

What's so frustrating is it's gets to be simple and become second nature when you understand exactly HOW to stop caring what everyone thinks. I can pinpoint the EXACT moment I stopped prioritising JOY and became obsessed with how I looked and whether other people liked or accepted how I looked. I was only 8 years old. But that moment stole DECADES of opportunities to reach my potential and have FUN.
