Delivered on our Lord's Day, 03 January 2021, at North Baptist Church, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
With having lived through a year of pandemic disrupting everything that we have come to accept as normal, we stand on the doorway of a new year looking back and wondering if there is anything worth hoping for in this year ahead. We face a mutating virus, a second wave, further lockdowns pushing our economy and livelihoods beyond what we have already been able to bear. What is the point of it all? If everything is in fact meaningless as the writer of Ecclesiastes says, then what is life worth living for? Is there any point in the pursuing of anything?
The answer to that is a resounding yes. Listen how you can make your time count.
