Kristin Dye, The Hive at the Lewisville Public Library

In this series we engage Makers from all areas of the maker movement to share how successful makerspaces' have forged their story. Makerspaces are unique to their community, and grow based on those who use them.

The Hive, Lewisville Public Library's makerspace, is home to innovation and creativity. The Hive features two 3D printers, a laser cutter, a Carvey CNC milling machine, sewing machines, an embroidery machine, design software, and more. A collaboration space is also included in The Hive, featuring mobile tables, chairs, and whiteboard which allow users to alter the workspace to fit their needs.

Kristen Dye is the current Makerspace Librarian for The Hive in the Lewisville Public Library. Kristen is a UNT alum and has other experience teaching special ed for Lewisville ISD and as an Adult Services Librarian for Frisco Public Library.
