At one point during our conversation, Chris and I describe our experiences of finding particularly the indie comic scene very welcoming and open. Recently, some very necessary conversations have been happening around the comic industry showing that--through toxic relationships and unfair page rates--the industry as a whole is not welcoming and open to everyone. The experiences we describe are honest and valid, but they are not universal and--coming from two straight, white men--involve a level of privilege.
