This episode focuses on the problematic nature of materials that children in Georgia may be exposed to in school libraries or public libraries in general. A leading expert and activist on this issue, Priscilla Bence, joins us to explain the loophole in state law that allows libraries to – literally – make obscene materials available to children. Priscilla also tells us about pending legislation (SB 74, the Harmful Materials to Minors Act) that would protect young Georgians from sexually explicit material, and about what parents can do to get that legislation passed.
