💥 Join me today on the podcast (link below) as I exhort: MAKE NO PROVISION FOR THE FLESH! Do not EVEN think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh! To make provision for the flesh is to expect to fail. It’s like an alcoholic who’s trying to stay sober but who tucks away a little liquor in a secret stash, “just in case.” He’s making provision for the flesh and will likely fail to remain sober. Similarly, those who seek to live godly lives must identify their stumbling blocks and remove them! Making no provision for the flesh requires taking “captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). For we can be certain, “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live” (Romans 8:13). GOD DID SAY, THE SOUL THAT SINS WILL SURELY DIE!!
According, to 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified.” We are called into holiness and obedience through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit! God will sanctify you (set you apart unto Him and declare you to be holy – freed from the power of sin) and He’s sure to do it, so say 1 Thessalonians 5:22-24! It is here we are commanded to: “Abstain from every form of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it." Amen!
How is it possible to be able to abstain from every form of evil and thus make no provision for the flesh, gratifying its desires? Answer: When we follow the teaching of Romans 13:14 – to wrap ourselves up in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. In so doing, we are not looking to please the flesh by indulging in those lustful desires we did in times past. In this Scripture, instead of wasting precious time satisfying lustful and selfish cravings, and holding onto false doctrines that give a false sense of “eternal security” and a false legitimacy for sin, Paul is rousing believers to clothe themselves in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Similarly, Paul teaches in Ephesians 4:22–24, “Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.”
YOU MUST FORSAKE SIN! CONSIDER YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO IT DEAD AND BROKEN!
COME OUT OF BABYLON! BE YE SEPARATE! FORSAKE THE WORLD AND ABIDE IN CHRIST JESUS!
