Working or staying home, being a mom is challenging. As someone who has done both, I can tell you that it is overwhelming and challenging. I pray that this episode inspires you, comforts you, and enlightens you as a mother trying to balance it all, that you embrace the will of God in all things, especially in your motherhood.

Lent has always been a time in the church where I put a lot of pressure on myself (am I doing enough? sacrificing enough? fasting enough? etc.). This year lent for me started with a BIG event, and has been taking me deeper and deeper. I believe it is good to have a plan for how we hope or envision our lent going, but at the root of it all, FAITH in God and His plans for us is the ultimate plan and will produce the most fruit in our souls for our lives. Here is how my lent started.... enjoy!

We all have ugly truths about ourselves that we keep hidden from the world; out of fear, and we sometimes even try to hide these truths from ourselves. When we are able to find and cultivate true friendships, the truths we have kept hidden don’t seem so ugly any more. We are able to bring them to the light and encounter Christ’s heart for us through these friendships. What are your ugly truths? Who can you trust with these truths? Who are your true friends that have a heart of Jesus, and will love and accept you in the midst of pain, confusion, and chaos in your life? I pray you know them, find them, and become them in your own life. 

Self help and self development content can truly make an impact on your life. But is that impact always for the best? How often do you read a self help book that reminds you of who you are as a child of God? How often are you instructed to invite and consult your path to success with Jesus when using self help? 

Shifting from self help to CHRIST help, can be the missing link you are needing to see real results in your life. When you invite the Lord into these places, you will begin to encounter Him more personally and intimately. Your view on success will shift from results, to the journey; and you will live a life more fulfilling with humility and gratitude rather than results and stress.  

What is consolation? What is desolation? Which are you currently living in? How do you restore your heart? Have you ever fought in spiritual warfare? These questions are answered in this episode of Making Room. We are both physical and spiritual beings, and we often overlook the spiritual side of us, or don't fully understand how to approach the spiritual side of ourselves. I hope this episode helps you to gain a perspective you may not have had before, ask some hard questions, and seek the heart of Jesus further.

This summer has been a whirlwind for my family and I. With lots of joyful moments to share, we are finally ready to tell you all about it; and what that process has looked like. Easier said than done! If you have ever been hurt or wounded by another, you know that forgiveness can be tough! In this episode I break down some of the lies the devil offers us in order to keep up from forgiving. If he can keep us apart, feeling angry and hatred, than he has the upper hand. My prayer is that as you listen and these lies of revealed, you begin to experience peace and freedom. You feel the permission of God to let go of what has held you back and hurt you for so long. I myself and have been on this journey and am still walking it with you. God's speed friends!

Have you ever talked to someone who seemed more educated on their faith than you and immediately felt insecure. Have you seen someone who is very involved or reverent in their faith and thought "I'll never be like that..." or "who do they think they are?". I want to open the conversation to what that has been like in my own life, and hopefully inspire you to consider a new perspective. Don't judge your journey to anyone else and don't base your salvation on the life of others. Consult Christ in all you do and lean not on your own understanding. It doesn't matter how you start the race, it only matters how you finish! Don't give up on yourself and don't compare your journey to someone else's!
