As I record this Faith Talk, we are just a few days away from Ash Wednesday, so it’s time for me to make my Lenten plan. It’s important for me to plan my Lent because if I don’t, I tend to continue going through the days in my normal routine - stuck in my “Ordinary Time” mode. But Ash Wednesday calls us to pause, step away from “Ordinary Time” and enter the extraordinary liturgical season of Lent, which calls us to change. So, I need a plan. In this episode I will share a few thoughts about Lent and Ash Wednesday as well as some specific suggestions for living a more intentional Lent using the 3 Pillars of Lent – prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. I hope this inspires you to make your own Lenten plan.
