God warns the people that their worship and morality is not based on Him. God doesn’t want faithlessness in relationships of marriage, nor in worship. God says He is sending a messenger, John the Baptist, to prepare the way for the coming of Jesus Christ, who will defeat sin and death, allowing worship in righteousness.
