We’re all familiar with Usha Uthup’s popular song, Ente Keralam Ethra Sundaram. Imagine listening to this beautiful song as many times as she wants from her mother during her childhood. RJ Anjali, daughter of Malayali’s favourite Usha Didi, grew up as a Malayali by choice. Even though she’s a half Malayali, half Tamilian, who grew up in Kolkata with a father and mother who themselves grew up in different parts of India, she instantly felt like home here in Kerala. Anjali asks an important question to her listeners - Who is a Keralite? Since Kerala is no longer a place but a feeling, isn’t anybody from anywhere in the world with a love for Kerala a Malayali?
