Malema calls on govt to deploy SANDF to Mozambique

Listen Later

Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has called on government to deploy the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to Mozambique.
Extremists continue to attack sites in the northern Mozambique town of Palma. At least one South African is believed to have died.
Addressing the media at the EFF headquarters on Tuesday, Malema said it was time for senseless killings to end in Africa.
“The problem of Mozambique is a problem of South Africa’s. The current sponsored destruction is not accepted because it is there to destabilise Mozambique,” he said.
STATE CAPTURE COMMISSION
On the State capture commission, Malema accused Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo of being a factionalist, however, he said former President Jacob Zuma should still appear before the commission.
He accused Zondo of “worshiping whiteness” and Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan .
He further accused Zondo of treating Advocate Dali Mpofu differently to a white lawyer.
“Racism is violence. When you meet it you must cut the word properly. We are very proud of Dali Mpofu . Zuma must go to the commission with all the reservations he has so that when Zondo takes the decision we will be able to weigh in. It doesn’t matter whether a judge is treating you unfair or not, you can take them on when you take the matter on review. We envisaged a commission that will hold the Guptas and Ruperts accountable, not certain factions of society,” added the EFF leader.
LOCKDOWN
As the country waits for President Cyril Ramaphosa ’s announcement on Covid-19 regulations, on Tuesday evening, Malema urged Ramaphosa to ban alcohol sales and transportation.
“People have gone crazy when there is alcohol involved. He said if alcohol is closed, half of the countries are done. We won’t have accidents and the trauma units will be free, allowing hospitals to deal with the third wave,” Malema stated.
He also urged the President to look into getting vaccines from Russia and China and promised protests if South Africans were not vaccinated.
