Malminderjit Singh is the Director of The Birthday Collective and Co-Editor of The Birthday Book series.  The Birthday Book is published yearly, and it comprises of heartfelt and reflective essays from various individuals in Singapore on diverse topics. As people in Singapore removed their masks, following the COVID-19 pandemic, 58 writers contemplated the significance of unmaskings, both literal and metaphorical, personal and collective.
