Local legend has it that if you're traveling on 22 Mine Road in Logan County, West Virginia you may see the ghost of Mamie Thurman. Whether you will see spirits or not is up for debate but in exploring the the story surrounding Mamie's murder, you will undoubtedly see the the ugly ghosts of our society's prejudices and injustices that still haunt our hearts and minds. While this story is about Mamie Thurman, it is just as much about the man who was found guilty of her death.
