The Son of Man is rightly called the man of sorrows. He suffers the agony of facing the wrath of God alone, and he humbly submits to the Father's will. He will be betrayed by Judas, denied by Peter, and abandoned by all. The man of sorrows endures all of this suffering to bring about the salvation of his people.
