Shane Kral is a 33-year-old man from Trumbull, Connecticut, who was sentenced to five years in prison in 2023 following a 2021 domestic assault incident in Milford, Connecticut. The assault, described by the court as “brutal and vicious,” took place while Kral was driving on Route 15. According to police and court records, Kral attacked a woman he was arguing with, repeatedly punching her in the face as her six-year-old child witnessed the assault. He allegedly threatened to kill them and drive the car off the road during the attack. The incident eventually led to Kral’s arrest and subsequent conviction on charges of third-degree assault and two counts of violating a protective order. With prior arrests and a criminal record spanning at least 18 instances, Kral’s history contributed to his sentencing outcome. During his trial, Kral’s defense acknowledged his issues with alcohol and argued for a sentence focused on rehabilitation. Nonetheless, the judge imposed a 10-year sentence, suspending half of it, and advised Kral to use the time to address his personal issues and reform.
