A 38-year-old man with alleged links to organised crime was shot dead inside a high-rise apartment complex on Shay Street in Lidcombe around 4am. Police are searching for up to five heavyset men wearing black clothing who fled the scene shortly after the shooting. A second man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries from an assault during the altercation involving up to six men.
