Rejoice. Jesus says specifically that we should rejoice most when we are

persecuted. This is explained further by both Paul in 2 Corinthians 6:10 and 12:10

and especially in James 1:2-4.

Matthew 5:12 – Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in

the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

James 1:2-4 – Consider it pure joy, my brothers whenever you face trials of many

kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let

perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking

anything.
