I argue here that the original solution to too little information was to create the illusion of certainty and analysis by handing social control to managers. Researchers are now getting further and further aided by mathematical models, artificial intelligence and a global information network. Blind acceptance, a key ingredient of the management solution does not come out as the winner in the race of solutions framed in the mind of researchers.
