This episode was so meaningful to me for so many reasons. COVID-19 has put heavy restrictions on the human to human connection. We are hard-wired to have physical contact with one another. We have been forced to create new schedules, routines, habits, and have basically restructured our lives around our new normal.
In this episode, Elana Clark-Faler explains why having a “can-do attitude” can make all the difference. Not in the sense of pretending everything is easy, but more to the point of not getting into the habit of “whoa is me”. This is important because if we let pessimism win, then we will spiral downward. If you have already begun to feel down, reach out for help by seeking out a mental health professional.
Elana also shares strategies to maintain a connection with all of the important people in our lives, including intimacy with our partners. Lastly, but most importantly, she discusses how to take care of ourselves during this time. Making sure we carve out time for self-care is the first priority.
