Host: William C. Cromwell, MD, FAHA, FNLA

The 2013 AHA/ACC cholesterol management guidelines prioritized therapies based on the proven benefit in treatment populations. However, as clinicians know, individual patient response to therapy varies. Optimizing individual patient care requires identification of an individual’s LDL response to therapy and, as indicated, adjustment in therapy to achieve improved LDL reduction. Dr. William Cromwell, medical director for cardiovascular disease at LabCorp, will review LDL-P and apo B targets of therapy that are supported by various expert organizations, as well as agents that reduce particle production and improve particle clearance.
